If you've ever been on Montclair Ave on Halloween this is a no-brainer! What's one more blocked road after all the many road closures this summer? And this one involves thousands of kids (and adults) in the dark!

There are literally thousands of people on this street on halloweeen. The town needs to get on it and block the street. They do it for every other little thing and street construction they can manage a few cops for this.

Thank u to the Montclair Ave residents that keep their generosity opened during this special night for the kids.
Yes, I believe kids actually get bussed in from other towns to trick or treat here.
Plz keep all the kids n families safe...

I attended a ward meeting last year asking for Montclair Avenue to be closed on Halloween night. The police had no idea that we have literally 1,000 kids or more trick or treating on our street, but nothing was done.

Montclair Ave. has become a target for trick-or-treaters from all over Montclair and towns adjoining. We're happy to oblige with our treats, but the vehicle traffic has become a real danger to all involved. If this tradition is to continue, we need to insure the safety of everyone. I believe our street has become unique in this regard and deserves special consideration, regardless of budgetary concerns.

The town closes streets for every little block party...this is the biggest block party I've ever seen. Our kids new to be kept safe!

Keeping kids safe has to be at least (more?!) as important as guarding road workers and PSEG/utility workers. Perhaps the police budget could be revisited?

Montclair Ave should be closed. I live in it and it is so crowded. No cars should be able to get through.

Cars have no place on Montclair Ave during an evening of excited kids and challenged parents. Please make it safer for everyone by closing the street. If we had police help for the night football game experiment, it seems equal to have it for a local tradition that draws kids from three nearby towns every year.
