Keep Milli Hill as Keynote Speaker at Midwifery Conference

What an amazing writer and speaker. Canceling should not happen to promote special interest groups.

Kia ora Milli. Sorry you are bearing the brunt of so much hate and misrepresentation.

Cancel culture has to STOP. Milli is a fantastic advocate for women and her contribution to the birth world is enormous!!

We would expect that birthing women would hold the power in the birth space but that is not the case ... and many like Milli Hill are working to expose the many 'power over' dynamics used to diminish birthing women's power in the birth space ... and now 'power over' dynamics are attempting to silence her clear voice.

Fully support Milli.

Full support to Milli Hill. It’s so disappointing that a small minority seek to silence and cancel someone who has done so much to initiate and support positive birthing conversations.

Feminism is further regressing if we continue to prioritise male feelings over (sex-based) female human rights.

This woman has worked for years to improve the birth experience for women. She would be an outstanding keynote speaker which the audience would be lucky to hear. Let’s stop attacking women standing up for women.

I am LGB. I do not support men’s rights campaigners using the word ‘rainbow’ as a tool to discriminate against midwives asking for respect for pregnant women. Milli must be allowed to speak for us!

The right to free speech is vital. Do not stop woman speaking be Use some peiw don't like what she has to say. Most want to hear her. Especially women

Free to speak up our opinions in Maternity Services and women's rights during childbirth.

Time to stop conflating sex and gender. The repercussions of which are far reaching for science and medicine, law, data collection, language, and social stability and understanding.

Stating biological facts is not hate speech. Can’t believe this is something that needs saying.

Please do not allow this bullying behaviour to dictate to your organisation. Milli is not transphobic and her points about language are an entirely valid point of view.

This is a good example of cancel culture. Shame on NZCOM! Let Milli Hill speak and save your conference from becoming a bowing-to-the-bullies-fest.

Milli’s book helped me plan for my birth, it is an invaluable resource. While at least 2 midwives challenged me, at one of my most vaulnerable points when pregnant and scared for not believing ‘men’ can give birth- as a woman, I feel Milli’s defence of giving birth as a exclusively female experience is terrifyingly necessary. May she have the freedom to speak and continue to help so many pregnant women.

Milli Hill speaks about biological realities of women - periods, pregnancies, labour and breastfeeding. She has provided amazing support to countless women and deplatforming her reminds me of what was happening in the Soviet Union where I was born during Stalin's GULAGs. Such totalitarian control over free speech is unacceptable in a democratic society. And if she's not invited to the conference then the conference is not worth attending.
