I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have stepped up to protect these vital resources for our students. This momentum belongs entirely to you because I never imagined this level of support when I started this.

My daughter has benefitted from having a mental health counselor at her school in Castroville. Removing them will not just hurt her, but many other kids who need to have someone listen, help and support them.
With teen suicide rates being so high, it would be reprehensible to remove mental health counselors. I'm appalled that the district would even CONSIDER this!
To eliminate a program that benefits the many to replace it with a program that will only serve a few students is not very wise.
My son relies on the counselors at his school. When children are having issues and don't know where to turn, those counselors are there for them to hear them out. Kids need that, to be able to let things out when things are bothering them and they just want to be heard.
Mental health counselors must stay on campus to serve our children/our community. We will end up paying more in the long run if we do not give our children the help they need now.
Do not continue to fail our children and their future!

I am the SBMHC at NMCHS.. I want to say thank you all for your support and showing me and my team mates all the love and for believing in us. I WILL miss my kiddos but I am truly blessed and grateful to have met them and gotten to know them. I am honored to have been accepted by them and to be able to build relationships and getting to know them .. I will be leaving with a broken heart and I just wanted to say thank you
