Major conflict between boys and girls teams with coaching, courts, and practice time. Super bad move. Don't change!

Please keep girls' tennis in the fall!! As an exhibition player, allowing the girls' tennis team to be in the fall provides girls like myself with the ability to play the sport we love, and to be on a team where we can create close friendships and bonds. Being on the tennis team has been one of the highlights of my high school career. It has taught me to be a committed team mate, an even harder worker, and how to successfully balance my school life with my passions. If tennis was moved to the spring and teams were smaller, girls like myself would be inhibited from participating and would not gain the experience of getting to play a high school sport. The change would only limit us, instead of encouraging us to be involved and play the sport we are passionate for.

I support keeping girls tennis in the fall to maximize the number of students who may participate in tennis both fall and spring.

It's important to encourage tennis as a women's sport as it is one of the few sports that lasts a lifetime! If switching the season to the spring loses participants, then it must be left in the fall. Encouraging participation in team sports, especially for women, is an important goal for high schools and should not be sacrificed to accommodate a few students who want to participate in state tournaments.

Combining the teams is an act of exclusion. Our tax dollars should support inclusive decisions for our public school athletes. Continue to give our students opportunities to succeed in tennis by playing on a fall team for girls and a spring team for boys.

Keeping the boys & girls tennis seasons separate allows greater opportunity to participate and excel for both genders. Better access to the limited resources of courts and coaches benefits both. Why would you change that?

Please keep girls tennis as a fall sport. It's best for teams, athletes, and coaches. Do not compromise this important segment of Montgomery County Public Schools athletics.

We URGE the State Athletic Association to reconsider the proposed changes. It would have a major impact on girl's tennis in Montgomery County. 1. Would reduce the team sizes because of less availability of courts. 2. Tennis coaches coach both boys and girls teams. 3. Weather issues. Thank you for strongly considering our comments.
