The girls have gotten so used to tennis being in the fall so it would be a big surprise to change it. Also some girls play tennis in the fall and a different sport in the spring so it wouldn't be fair.

Do not change the current programming. There are numerous boys and girls who will not be able to participate in a team sport. There is already no JV team. Essentially every other sport (except maybe wrestling & football) have seperate boys and girls teams as well as JV teams. This is simply unaccetable

This change impacts both MCPS boys and girls. There are numerous boys who will not be able to participate on their varsity tennis teams if this change goes into effect and teams are required to be smaller.

Please keep the MCPS girls' and boys' seasons separate in the Fall and Spring. The # of participants is already so limited. It would make no sense to cut the available slots in half.

I do agree with the cold weather being a huge factor. I remember my son's hands, along with his teammates, being so frozen that they could barely hold the racquets!

I have 2 daughters and a son that play at Whitman. I would not want them playing at the same time because it would cut down on the number of courts available for practice meaning less kids would play or they would have different practice times. Besides, the reasoning behind it is ridiculous because anybody that plays at the state level is playing year round anyway and the break between fall and spring makes no difference.
I wholeheartedly support the petition.
