I say no to gender abuse! Human gender is Man = Male Woman= Female Anything else is non gender.

This is vital for women. There are many other places for trans to use.

It will be very uncomfortable for women in a supposedly single sex space to be around evidently male-bodied people, regardless of their self assigned gender. If women wanted to be in a mixed sex space, they would go to ordinary swimming pools. Single sex female only spaces provide a place of security, healing, and relaxation for all (cis) women because all (cis) women know to some degree or another what it is like to be at the receiving end of unwanted male attention, male violence, or sexual assault and sexual harassment. In a swimming costume, it is very clear to see who has female 'parts' or male 'parts' and it will be obvious when there are biological males using the pool (sex observed at birth, again, regardless of the person's self assigned gender). It is silly for people to ask "will you do checks of genitalia?"- the answer is no, that will quite obviously not be necessary as there are many biological markers of sex, especially if one is wearing tight swimwear but even if not. Having a single sex, female only space for swimming is also extremely important to (cis) women from cultural or religious background where being semi naked around members of the opposite sex is strictly forbidden. What about the rights of these women to have a safe place to fully relax? Last I heard, 1 in 4 women in Australian society will at some point be the victim of male-on-female violence, this means there is a widespread need for the protection of single sex female spaces for women to go and feel safe, heal and replenish away from any presence of males (regardless of their self assigned gender). I do not know what the answer is for trans women seeking full acceptance and identity as a woman in the way their cis-ters are, unfortunately, the erosion of single sex, female only spaces is one avenue I cannot support. I use terms female, male and sex to refer to biological sex observed at birth.

Putting on lipstick, and a dress doesn’t make you female. You need a womb and menstration, that’s what makes us women.

I agree wholeheartedly with the organisers of this petition. Please keep Sydney's one female-only ocean swimming pool as a safe, welcoming place for women.

Please let us keep our right to private bathing. Adult and child females have a sex based right to privacy and safety. Please do not take it away from us!

I am sick and tired of the protections that women fought for so long being dismantled by narcissistic autogynephiles. This is nothing more than a modern day men's rights movement!

We should look at creating more provisions for vulnerable people not less. Removing provisions and services from one vulnerable group to give to another vulnerable group is not necessary.

Women's safety above men's feelings

Unbelievable that in 2020 WOMEN have to justify their right to single sex spaces, which respect women's dignity and privacy and their right to freedom from males - regardless of how said males identify.

They have Men's Sheds, so women need a place to go to

Women must be allowed to have spaces for themselves. If trans women want trans women only spaces, they should campaign for those, not seize what women fought for.

Adult human females deserve privacy from biological men regardless of the men's internalized homophobia or sexual orientation. The problem is male violence. Fix male violence, have men include men outside of the typical gender stereotypes as men

Women and children require women only spaces. We dont have many. Lets ensure we keep the few we have left.

Stop erasing women's spaces. Transwomen retain male rates of violence and the percentage of sexual predators within that community is higher than normal male populations. You are endangering women and girls.

As an assault survivor, this was a sanctuary where I felt safe and didn't need to be frightened by unexpected male voices. It was the only place I could go in a swimsuit where I felt safe.

I don't see why it has to change! when it's already been that way since it opened. Just keep it how it is ☺️
