I was born at Coogee in 1944. I love the unique safety of swimming in it then and it should remain as a woman’s only pool. I also feel it would be fitting to hold a regular indigenous women’s only day.

Ahhhhh I signed this thinking that the council was trying to make it public! So so so sorry, I didn’t realise this petition was transphobic, I didn’t read the description, I just thought the council was making it open to everyone. I am not transphobic ahhhhhh I can’t figure out how to unsign this petition but just wanted to clarify that I’m not a transphobe!!!!

Stop female erasure and the loss of women's spaces! This is not an inclusive action, this is a means to alienate women and risk the safety of children. Stop sacrificing the safety and comfort of women for the sake of appearing progressive!

Keep women's spaces for women! Women and men experience sexual violence in bathrooms and changing rooms, in an overwhelming number of cases by men. It's ok to have boundaries that protect women and children. Boundaries that help prevent sexual abuse are more important than affirming someone's gender.
