I first went to Mathews in 3rd grade in 2007. It was my first year of attending school with just my dad and I after my mother left while my father was deployed. My dad used to eat lunch with me just about everyday that year at the school. Me. Brown knew my father my name and they usually had atleast a 10 minute conversation everyday. I remember Mr. Brown used to draw pictures and pass them out to a random student everyday. These men brought happiness to the school. I am now 18 years old enlisted in the United States Army and I still remember the effect these men had in my life at school. Allow them to work and continue to bring happiness to kids. You never know what child could be in need of something. Emotionally or physically. It's men like this who can make the difference.

Mr. Brown is one of the absolute sweetest people I know! As for Mr. Cleo, he will always hold a special place in my heart. I've never had many friends, but he made the special effort to sit with me for a short while every day at lunch so I wasn't by myself. Love these two sweet gentlemen!!

These two fine men are part of The Mathews family and that is where they need to stay. They are the rock that keeps that school clean and fresh and love the kids as well.

I was a student there when Mr. Anthony had been a custodian there and when he moved away, it was so heartbreaking for all of the kids to see him go. I would hate for the students to have to see two amazing people leave in the same year. These two men have helped students with all of their problems and almost act as second guidance counselors for some of these students. For some of the students, they even act as father figures for them because of how dedicated they are to the lives of the children. These men are amazing and have blessed many lives including mine. I would hate to see any custodian leave Mathews Elementary, especially these two men.

I went to Mathews from pre-k all the way to 5th grade. I'm now 20 years old and I still remember both of these wonderful men. Mathews wouldn't be the same without them!

They were both there when I first came to the United States. They were always patient with me and made me feel like I belonged.

This is a family and you can't take family away. The janitorial staff is part of the Mathews family. I was around long enough to know many of the staff: Mr. Anthony, Mr. Cleo, Mr. Brown. They all made an impact on my life, and not just mine but everyone who's been apart of Mathews as some time or another.

Mr. Cleo and Mr. Brown made my time at MES such a joy. They show so much love to the faculty and students, and removing them from their home for nearly three decades would be absolutely wrong.

These two men were always a part of my Mathews home. They are friendly fixtures of the school who are always willing to lend a hand or a kind word. I fully believe they should remain a part of the Mathews family until they choose otherwise.

Long ago, my family joined the Mathews family and we met Mr. Cleo and Mr. Brown. Fast forward six kids and 23 years later and those two gentlemen were as big a part of our family as they were to the Mathews family. While they have both certainly earned the rest, to force them out after so many years of touching young lives and making them better is a travesty and a gross disservice to the hundreds of children that they can still impact.

I meet these 2 gentlemen at an event the school had for the kids last year. I can tell you these 2 men love these kids just as much as the teachers do. It will be hard to replace this kind of dependable, respectful, kind, love for their job & the kids.
