The regular elementary custodial staff should be kept at all the elementary schools. At my child's school (Gentian) one of the ladies has been there almost 30 years. She talked to my kindergartener at open house and said she helped the kids with milk cartoons etc. Many people in these positions are doing so much more than just cleaning. They are a familiar person to the children and can give an extra hand when needed. Also my understanding is the "crews" will come in after school. So who will clean up lunch tables between grades and other spills and messes (you know kids throwing up mid school day) during the daytime.

Mr. Brown & Mr. Cleo were there all of my elementary years at Mathews and I would hate to see them go! My 6 year old daughter goes there now and I just recently pointed them out to her when I went to eat lunch with her. I would love for her to get to know them as well as I did and her have the chance to look forward to seeing their friendly faces every day!

It breaks my heart to think that is even a thought. These "young men" are role models, not for what they do but for who they are. They look out for my three children and I truly appreciate them for their kind words and actions toward my children and all the children who attend Mathews.

I went to Mathews in 1978and 1979 before these two awesome individuals BUT MY BOYS KNOW THEM BOTH AND IT WOULD BE A SHAME TO TAKE THEM AWAY FROM THEIR HOME AT MATHEW'S.

These men were working when my siblings and I were at Matthews, we are all now several years into college, and they are promanint in our stories when we reminisce on our years in elementary. It broke my heart to read that future generations could be deprived of knowing these amazing, caring, and funny men.

Both Mr. Brown and Mr. Cleo were so incredibly kind to all of us climbing the ladder that is Mathews Elementary. I have the fondest of memories at that school and particularly with these two outstanding custodians. It would make many alumni including myself honored to keep these two incredible gentleman a part of the team that sculpts our young generation daily.

I remember going to elementary school and these two great men makings every day at lunch a funny time and were always so caring. To remove them from the staff would decrease the moral within in the school.

I'm 25 now and I still remember these two men when I went to Matthews. They are a part of that school always will be. I can't count how many times they helped someone thru a rough day. They aren't just custodians... they became the first person you want to see walking into the school.

Mr. Brown and Mr. Cleo are so much more than just custodians at Mathews Elementary. They are truly the heart beat of the school. You can often find them given students high fives, words of encouragement and taking the time to just listen. In a young child's life these simple gestures mean a lot. Mathews Elementary is truly a family and you feel the love when you enter the school. Moving our beloved custodians may be a great financial decision however everything in life should not revolve around money. Mr. Brown and Mr. Cleo help to teach our children to take pride in everything they do no matter how big or small that task is. The lessons our children learn from them can not be found in a book, but happily lives in the hearts that they touch each day.

They were always there when i was little keeping it clean and warning me about the weather to bring an umbrella or jacket the next day. Always a smile and a good morning to start my day.

I loved them when I was at Matthews! I'm 23 now and I remember always going to school and talking to Mr Brown and Mr Cleo about everything I was learning! LET THEM STAY
