24X7 guard is one of the reasons why we selected Island Walk. It provides better security and also a competitive marketing edge. The fence/walls do not enclose the main gate area. Has the Board considered completing the fencing/walls? If so what is the cost. If the gate fails to open will there be a person HOA or Board member assigned to respond off hours?

As a widow and senior citizen, security was one of my top considerations when choosing a community. The $24ish/year savings is not worth the security gained by 24/7 manned guard station.

The security of a 24-hour guard at the gate is critical to residents' peace of mind and safety. We have owned in IW from the very beginning in 2006 and there were periods during construction where the back gate area (apparently) had to be left accessible to construction crews. During that time we received an email warning us to lock our doors even if we left the house for a walk because thefts were occurring during the day. We DO NOT want to revisit a time when non-residents can access our community during the night and potentially result in theft, property damage, or worse.
The cost is minimal for the reassurance that our community remains as safe as possible.

Keep the gate quards on 24 hrs.
We pay enough to the Association fee to pay for all of this that’s what was told to us when we first moved in and now they want to take it away not fair not paying any more money.

Please keep the gate guard 24/7. It is one of the reasons we purchased in Islandwalk. The cost is minimal and adds to home values. A HOA fee under 400 per month is on of the best values in the county

i purposely purchased a home here for the security of a guarded community. 24$ a year is more than reasonable. Please reconsider keeping the guards at night.
