3 generation of Peterson have been taught by Mr. Luscombe. With all his experience he should stay if he want to.

That post from Answers is very informative. Whoever wrote that, knows a lot about who has been driving the change at DMC over the past few years. Matt Mayse once told a former superintendent that his time at DMC was up. People who have their own gym? Hmmmm. Duda, who definitely posted that anonymous response. These are the people who driving DMC toward a business/ private school mindset and away from a ministry first/ Christ-centered mindset. They should go, not Mr. L.

This really is saddening. Math was not my strong suit and I struggled my whole life in math. Until I came to DMCS, Luscombe is AWESOME. As an alumni I would be extremely disappointed if DMCS were to let Mr. Luscombe go. I have been concerned with the straying from the DMCS mission in the past few years. I would hope that DMCS wouldn't be so inclined to get rid of a teacher who has helped so many and has had a great track record. If these kind of things continue to happen, and the administration continues to veer from it's mission and values, and lets go teachers who have been amazing... I would be happy to say this alumni will send it's donations elsewhere.

This is not a surprise, but it’s just so sad.
DMCS over the years has changed its focus and is managed by the powerful and big donors. The school has a lot of hypocrisy. The big donors drive the school’s decisions. It’s no longer about true biblical values but about political views.
We decided our children were not getting our money’s worth and pulled the plug. In what Christian school does a high school bible teacher, openly discuss his political views and the hatred towards the other party in a bible class? Well, it happened many times in DMCS.
If they stick to the chore values then Mr. Luscombe should not be on the cutting board, as he is a good teacher. My kids had a lot of good things to say about his teaching philosophy and enjoyed his Math classes.
I guess, he probably did not fit into the donors list of a great teachers. It’s very sad that DMCS is not preparing the children to be successful by challenging them academically for the real world. It’s pathetic but others are not blinded

Mr. Luscombe is the only teacher from DMCS that made a lasting impact on me. He was my math teacher through calculus and my track coach. When his wife passed away, I drove back from college to attend the visitation and be with him. Without Mr. Luscombe, why would I support this school? He was the one person who linked my experience at DMCS with the current money-hungry administration.

Unfortunately, this is one more example suggesting a lack of accountability and transparency in recent times. I hate thinking that, but don’t know what other conclusion to draw. Other teachers have been unexpectedly removed, board notes are no longer published, communications from the school have become fewer and further between. Parents are asked to weigh in on very little.
Obviously the school can’t provide details on many personnel issues. But this doesn’t pass the smell test, and right now I sure wouldn’t want to work there wondering if I’m next. And I’m starting to get uneasy by how many people are pointing toward financial influencers. This is not the DMCS we used to know and love.
This particular situation has been festering for days, and it will be interesting to see whether it’s ever actually addressed, or if, as some probably hope, it will eventually just subside.

If you truly want answers look into how teachers get placed on “Intensive Action Plans”. Mr Luscombe is not the first to be removed in this way and it certainly seems he won’t be last.
Some former teachers and former administrators chose to “quit” or “resign” prior to this happening to them or because they probably refused to go along with the plan.
So I encourage you to look for your answers there first. Start with Mrs. Duda, move to the Board and maybe some past Board Members like Matt Mayse.
Then look into who is connected with Mrs. Duda. Who are her friends? Are their any with influence and money? Maybe a gym?
Look into the Business side of things...who is in charge down there? What’s her purpose in all of this?
I think if you do some digging, you will find some answers.
Money talks to these people, not a petition. It’s why boycotting the Gala and the money it would bring in might help actually do something for the future. I’m sure it won’t help Clint but maybe some other teacher down the road. Maybe the next ones who are on the “chopping block”...

My thoughts.. We can all agree Luscombe was a wonderful teacher and for so(me) he showed great patience. When it’s all said And done, yes, I feel bad for him, but I’m also thankful for DMC as a whole. I would not be who I am today without DMC. There’s a reason this is happening and we may never know why, but honestly it won’t change anything whether this petition hits 1,000 or not. Is it ok to question the decision? Yes. Is it ok to question the board? Absolutely. We want what’s best for the future Lions. Is it ok to hurt the opportunity for future Lions to attend DMC? Absolutely not. Don’t boycott the Gala. I’m a product of donors who give generously towards DMC. I would not have been able to attend the school without it. If you know something I don’t, please educate me. Again I am very thankful for Mr. Luscombe and I support him. I also believe his termination and attending the scholarship Gala are two separate issues. By boycotting the Gala, you’re punishing both current and future students, not the administration.

I would encourage someone to post the link to this petition on The DMC Google review. One could also copy the link to other websites that review DMC.
Let those who may not see this on Facebook see it elsewhere. It would also be another way to get the Admins and School Boards attention.
I’d do it but then they might kill me...figuratively speaking of course.

We should boycott the True Blue Gala. That would make a great statement.
However, there is still the chance that Mr. Luscombe will have to leave. And that is why I urge us all-- please use these last few months to honor Luscombe's legacy. If you are currently in one of his math classes or are involved in his daily schedule, show him appreciation. Show him respect. Don't complain about any of the little things. Bring him gifts or cards if you know him. That is the least we could do for him.
Another thing -- if or when Luscombe gets replaced by a new teacher, I will feel incredibly pitiful for that teacher. The response from students and parents could be quite hostile, and the pressure that will be placed on them will be insurmountable. This singular decision of Luscombe's teaching contract could impact the school's future math program for years or even decades, and most likely in a negative way.

I had Mr. Luscombe for musltuple years and i still remember some of the unique songs he taught us to help remember some trigonometry and pre calculus equations. He even did some dance moves which is what made me remember these equations throughout the years!

No teacher from a Christian school should worry about being told their testimony is too messy or that they need to quiet down when sharing the gospel with certain kids in class. This has happened before and it’s gonna keep happening unless we do something about it

Mr. Luscombe is one of the greatest, most inspirational teachers DMCS has ever had. Not many could take a subject like Math and make it enjoyable and a highlight of the day. Luscombe did that every day and led countless students to a better understanding of the subject and how to use it in life. His upbeat personality and passion for teaching made him my all-time favorite teacher. I know many others feel similarly. It would be a mistake to deprive future students of the joy of learning with him.
