I love Mr. Luscombe! I took every math class he had to offer, and I loved math enough that at college I took a math major in addition to computer science. If DMC gets rid of him, then it reflects poorly on the administration, and I will forever remember their poor choice.

jazz drummer jo jones once threw a drum cymbal at charlie parker when he messed up a solo in his band; later that night, parker had a pity party for himself; later that week he made up his mind to practice; the next year, he made the band, because he worked hard to attain the skill required; if jo jones had just said "good job" and gave parker a participation award for his two-bit excuse of a solo, parker would have never become the Original Bird; arguably one of the greatest sax players of all time; mr clint luscombe is the living embodiment of this philosophy; difficulty is what forces us to grow; when a bird is assisted in breaking out of its shell, it never gets to overcome the obstacle that it needed to- the bird will never have had the chance to attain the strength that it needs to survive

I graduated from DMC over 10 years ago. I had Mr. Luscombe for math classes while in High School. He is still one of my favorite teachers, which is saying a lot because I am terrible at Math. His class was difficult but any time I needed clarification or additional help, he made himself available and worked through it with me. I passed his classes with good grades and felt well prepared for college level courses. He is an excellent example and is willing to go above and beyond for his students. His love for his job and his students is obvious and losing that would be a tragedy.

Mr. Luscomb is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Every day, I look forward to his class because of how well he teaches it. Every lesson I learn something new, and he will sit with me at lunch every day to help with assignments. He loves to teach, and it shows through his class.

Stop being snowflakes!!! I get it, Mr. Luscombe teaches at a higher level than what some students are capable of. However, if DMC is going to claim to be a college prep school, YOU NEED TO BE TEACHING AT A COLLEGE LEVEL!!!!! Mr. Luscombe prepared me for college math so incredibly well that I passed out of taking calculus and performed very well in my stats class. I KNOW this is because of how well Mr. Luscombe taught me. The standard of education has decreased since I left DMC and it is doing a disservice to the kids who choose to go to college. If you want to continue to baby your students, you need to stop calling yourself a college prep school. Mr. Luscombe prepares students to be successful in college, and it would be an absolute shame to lose this incredible teacher. Don’t mess this up, DMC.

One of the best teachers you’ll ever have! If DMC doesn’t keep him, they will have lost a true gem!

Luscombe is an incredible guy and it disappointed me the school decided to let him go based on a few complaints. Luscombe is one of the most realistic teachers in the school, and should not be leaving.

He doesn't spoon feed your child. He prepares me for the rigors of college unlike most of the teachers in the system.

Students at DMCS have become used to a culture of spoon-feeding. When their grade in math suddenly drops upon joining Luscombe’s classes, they refuse to take accountability and instead blame the teacher. Students struggle through his advanced math classes because of their own laziness, not failures in teaching. I am sure the school has gotten complaints from parents that don’t believe their darling student would play hours of video games instead of studying for some of the most applicable classes the school offers. DMCS could never find another teacher to fill the gaping hole that their most senior educator’s absence would leave. I wouldn’t be ready for the future if Luscombe taught like some of the ways other subjects are taught at DMCS.

Luscombe has over 30 years of teaching experience at this school and deserves more but yet asks for nothing. Terminating his contract is disrespectful for a teacher who has dedicated most of his life to this school and is a fantastic teacher and should be kept.

Mr. Luscombe is my favorite teacher at DMCS, and I would not be where I am today if it were not for him.

Mr. Luscombe was one of the teachers who helped keep math alive for me! He pushed us to not only be great students, but also good, God-fearing people.

Luscombe is one of the few teachers to properly challenge us and help real growth occur.
