Mr Luscombe always shows genuine interest in our lives. It would be grave error to terminate him. He is a Godly man

Honestly, this is outrageous. Please stop firing our teachers/faculty that we love so dearly.

I graduated in 1997. He is still one if the most memorable teachers! He has been a part of the school's history. He was an upstanding man of honor as his wife was sick and passed away. It is clear from all the comments that nothing has changed. When my own father passed away suddenly he showed up at the funeral and that was 13 years after I graduated. This sounds like private school politics and it's shameful and not very Christ like. Disappointing.....

Luscombe was one of my favorite people at DMCS. I took math with him for three years and found him to be incredibly knowledgeable, helpful when I had questions, funny, caring, and everything a good teacher should be. The students I knew that complained about his class would not pay attention and then expect special treatment, which he wouldn’t give because they were disrespectful. Those who wanted to learn got to learn from his expertise.

Mr. Luscombe is one of the best teachers DMCS has ever had. As a parent of 4 children who have all gone through this school, I've gotten to hear the stories from all of my kids about how much they love Mr. Luscombe. As a father, I've gotten to know Mr. Luscombe as a man. He is full of godly character, integrity, and upright morals. How can you ask for anything more than this from a teacher? Be aware, they did the same thing to Mrs. Esther Wright last year. One year before reaching retirement. Sounds like DMCS is starting a pattern of age discrimination, as they are doing the same thing to Mr. Luscombe. They call it "not renewing your contract," but when it's one year before you are to retire, it has to be viewed as a systematic plan to save money. After they spent millions on the stadium, now the teachers are the ones who have to pay. DMCS, as a Christian school, integrity is at the cornerstone of who you are, what you teach. If you keep getting rid of the best teachers, like Mrs. Wright and Mr. Luscombe, you are getting rid of some of the best ambassadors you have for your school. These teachers are the gold standard, in my opinion. You need to ask yourselves, is this how Jesus would treat these teachers if He were here today. Because that is supposed to be how we, as Christians, are supposed to live our lives, with the integrity and character of Jesus Christ. If "not renewing the contract" of your teachers is how you are going to choose to do business, you will have a hard time finding teachers who want to work with that knowledge in the back of their minds. In my opinion, if DMCS gets rid of their teachers like this, maybe it's time we take a hard look at the current leadership, starting with the school board, superintendent, principals. Are they leading the way we want our school to be run. I expect to hear stories like this from business and he rest of the unsaved world, but not from an institution that purportedly is training up our children to be go

The DMCS community deserves to know why Mr. Luscombe contract is not being renewed… It appears that this was done not in the best interest of our school & students.

Clint Luscombe has been and continues to be an excellent teacher preparing students for the challenges of college academics. It would be a shame to let such a dedicated individual go.

A good Christian example is rare and should be used to honor God.

I had Mr. Luscombe for math and as a coach while I was at DMC and I can say his class was easily my favorite each day. So fun and full of jokes he always made everything better and set a great example of a man following Jesus.

It is absolutely unbelievable that DMC would let go of a teacher who has dedicated most of his life to this school and to his students. I count it a gift and a blessing that my husband, both my kids and I have all had the privilege of being his students. I’m thankful for the impact he has had on all of our lives. He not only teaches in a way to prepare our kids for college, he also loves and cares for them deeply. He sacrifices much of his own time to help students. I can’t count the times I have heard of him spending his own lunch hours with students to give them extra help. The comments on this page are a perfect testament of what kind of man and teacher you are choosing to let go. Please reconsider. I don’t believe this is the best thing for the school. This news completely breaks my heart.

Mr. Luscombe was an incredible mentor to me as a new teacher to DMC a few years ago. He goes above and beyond the mission statement, inspiring students and teachers alike.

While we might complain and grumble a bit about Luscombe's class, we love and respect Mr. Luscombe. Our attitudes are a testament to Luscombe's dedication to challenge us and not let us off easy. As young, shapable students, we highly value such a teacher as this. We feel as though we have been let down by the people who have made this decision.

Do not let this teacher go!! I have 3 boys at DMCS and Luscomb's influence and dedication to serving the students has always been above and beyond. All three boys play baseball and i can't imagine his influence being removed from their lives both in school and baseball! I don't know why the decision has been made to get rid of a teacher of his caliber when i see new hires, many first year teachers, with no experience mentoring students. (Nothing wrong with them personally) Experience matters!!!!!!!

We've had some excellent staff leave recently, and now another is being terminated.I ask that the board reconsider.
