I am not a parent but I strongly believe LISD schools should continue to remotely learn because my old teachers from middle and high schools are terrified for their lives and I don’t want them to die or become gravely sick from Covid, the psychological impact of which will also likely jeopardise students’ academic performance and may even traumatise them for several years afterward.

Until we get a handle on the pandemic AND some evidence-based direction from the CDC, I think the district’s resources would best be spent developing and delivering quality synchronous content to all students throughout the district.

It is irresponsible and reckless to consider opening schools for in person learning when the pandemic is surging and case counts are so high. Opening under these circumstances would endanger students, teachers, all staff, all family members and the community at large. This is just a really uninformed plan. Follow the science.

I am autoimmune compromised. My daughter has respiratory problems which sends her to the e.r 3 times a year when school is in session due to getting sick. Neither one of us has left our home for 5 months! Her sisters would naturally want to go to school if there was a choice...without a choice we can easily keep our family safe.
