Another instance of a land/facility grab of a property that has been tended and enjoyed by horse owners for decades simply to placate the masses (who have many, many alternatives). We are about to experience what indigenous people have for centuries! Shame on you Rhode Island DEM!!!!

Please don't close down this beautiful facility.

Why court the people with big bucks? It’s time our culture valued the the people who simply love the land and their animals. Why do you need to take away this experience from the locals who appreciate it so that the rich can have more and more?

I am against the proposal to change the use of the Horsemen's Camp. The proposed changes would serve to vastly reduce the use of the camp as intended at its inception, would be a slap in the face to all the work that individuals and small groups have put into the facility, and would create the challenges in traffic, noise, and trash management that are more prevalent with large group use as compared with individuals' use. The proposed changes would drive horse owners and their economic resources out of Rhode Island, plus would eliminate the tourist dollars associated with out-of-state riders coming into the camp for weekend getaways.

Please allow this unusual and historical spot to be saved for horse camping.

My husband and many friends have camped here since1984 . We are from Massachusetts but enjoy going to Rhode island for a weekend. To far to go for just a day ride. We have personal liability insurance and though haven't camped there recently, we always sent in the fee.

Keep the trails open and our quality of life high.

Given all that the RI Federation of Riding Clubs have done to help DEM keep this site clean and beautiful, the site should remain running as it has since 1969. Stop the state money grab!

We should be looking to save horse trails and campgrounds. There are so few places left, especially in the New England area.

I was born and raised in Rhode Island. I ran a horse business for years in Portsmouth. My family and I use this campground several times a year. To lose it would be a travesty! Especially considering the improvements the horse community has made here over the years!

Places to go camping with your horse are already limited. Horsemen have improved and maintained these facilities for years. This should be kept is he kept as a horse camp for everyone!

There is no need to make this change.
