It is extremely important to me to keep the Captain's boards up. I think it is an important part of the school and integral to the upholding of Kingswood Oxford as a school that people can be proud they were a part of.

HI EVERYONE!!! WE DID IT!!!! THE BOARDS ARE BACK AND THE TRADITION IS CONTINUING. ALL FUTURE CAPTAIN NAMES WILL BE ADDED TO THE BOARDS AND ALL THE BOARDS WILL BE HUNG UP AGAIN!!! YAYY!!

I am a grandparent to two KO students and feel that KO sports traditions should be continued. Acknowledging the achievements of athletes in the past and today is important to future student athletic goals and accomplishments.

Anthony V. Amato, West Hartford , CT. proud member of the class of 1979. I was never skilled enough to be a Wyvern captain but i take great personal pride in reading the names of my classmates whom i still refer to as "dear friends". The Administration is being shortsighted in disrespecting these great scholar athletes! what will the powers that be eliminate next? Individual student's achievements add to the K-O Legacy of being a premier Prep School.
Don't let today's Administration erase the amazing achievements of amazing young women & men of yesterday !

I'm reminded of Chesterton's fence. There's a very good reason the captain's boards were there. That reason needs to be clearly understood, and respected.

It is disappointing that KO is no longer promoting the "student / athlete"; the very fabric of a Country Day School. Lack of support by the Board has decimated the sports programs. Now recognition of past leaders is at risk of being removed. The "Captains" boards represent history and a young person's will to achieve a higher goal. They are supposed to be old and original. There is no student who would not be proud to have his or her name added to the same "board" as their father, mother or grandparent before them. That's the tradition!
