Stuy '02. Kern makes the building and the theater run. No one knows more about keeping Stuy open and functional than him. His dedication to the school is unparalleled - he is always fixing something and helping out. He is indispensable to the theater community at Stuy. He is much more than whatever DOE has labeled him.

Kern kept the entire school running, from top to bottom. He worked tirelessly to keep Stuy humming, and yet still managed to find time to mentor students interested in the technical aspects of theater and stage production. The school would have fallen apart years ago if it weren't for Kern. I can think of nobody more qualified for or deserving of the position.

Kern is a fundamental part of the theater. There is no way anyone could call him underqualified, when he has been such an incredible backbone of the stuy community. Please let him keep his job!

It is in no way an overstatement to say Kern is essential to Stuy functioning properly. Aside from him being indespensible to any students involved in theater, he is the person who makes the building work. And if the building doesn't work, the school doesn't work either. DOE has demonstrated its lack of commitment to its students by not fixing this situation.

I used to see him all the time fixing the theatre lights for Mr. Mott. He's a genuinely cool dude and a friend to us all.

NOT FAIR, Kern is one of the nicest, most helpful faculty in the school. He honestly cares more about all of us than most of the other faculty. AND he is more qualified than anyone else.

Mr. Kern turned on the escalator once for me so I didn't have to walk. He is a good man, he reminds me of my father sometimes.
