In four years back in the 90s, our band had three different directors, and the students suffered for it. Consistent leadership is key.

Keep Mr. Kastner where he is. He always took pride and loved what he did. That's what made these kids do as well
as they did.

Band directors that make a positive difference in the lives of their students need to be applauded, and left to continue their GREAT work. I no longer live in NA and don't know Mr. Kastner, however, my daughter's attitude and outlook changed in a very positive light BECAUSE of her Band Director.

I wasn't in the band but I was in chorus and I had friends who were in the band and I got to see all the had work that Kastner put in to make it one band one sound. He has continued to make each and every student feel welcome in the band room even if they weren't in the band. He made students realize that they has more talent and potential to better themselves not only with there instrument but in other things in life as well. To take that away from the next generation isn't right. Kastner belongs at that high school in his band room where he can continue to make our high school band look better each and every single year.

Although I was never a student at North Arlington, I attended NAHS events all throughout high school. The band was always spectacular and I would hate to see that change. Many of my friends and people I care about are involved in the band and I support them.

Christopher Kastner was not only the best teacher I had in high school, but he was the most inspirational. He taught me more than I could ever imagine about music and caused to develop such an appreciation and passion for music. Mr. Kastner's knowledge and just flat out love for music was powerful and contagious and it sparked a fire in every single one of his students. To remove him from the high school would only make the high school less of what it already was. Not to take away anything from his (supposed) replacement, but I think you'll find that there is no better man for the job than Christopher Kastner.
