Please keep these trails friendly to equestrians, bikers and pedestrians, they can all share the trails. It is unrealistic to have equestrians bag poop and could in fact be dangerous. It is completely acceptable to ask equestrians to make sure horse manure kicked off of the trail surface.

I am over 75, and unable to mount or dismount without a mounting block, therefore it is physically impossible for me to bag manure when out on a trail. Also having to carry bags of manure while riding is ridiculous.

Equine aren't pets, and bagging and removing manure is ridiculous. I personally don't take my dogs on the trail when I ride so will refrain from commenting.

If horses are pets, then update the residential zoning language to allow our pets to live in our backyards.

As the Work Projects Coordinator for Buckhorn Range Chapter - Back Country Horsemen of WA I have enjoyed working with Jefferson County Parks for the last 3 years to develop and maintain county trails. I don't think that the intention is to remove us from the trails, and hope that we can change the language of the proposed ordinances to allow the county trails to continue to be a valuable asset to all of the user groups who enjoy them.

Horses should not be considered pets, many help with veterans and 1st responders with PTSD . Also many a special needs physical and emotional needs has been helped by working with horses.
They are livestock and help many a farmer stay in business.

This is absurd. Equestrians are already limited regarding trail access nationwide. And this was proposed with no input from the equestrian community.

Horse manure degrades quickly and easily and is composed of vegetable matter, not rotting meat. There are a thousand parks and trails that are available for bikers, hikers, and dog walkers, very few that are still available for horses. For once, leave the horse trail as a horse trail. Equines are not pets.

Horses don’t consume meat. Their waste is easily biodegradable. Horses are not dogs and don’t consume meats.

Please. This is my favorite riding trail. We always clean up after ourselves and are so respectful to other animals and nature.
Please keep the trails open for equestrians!
