Most people who met in oxford are interested in Japanese and they study Japanese. I 'm really flat about it. So it's a sad thing....

Britain is far too insular already. Language skills are much worse than in many other countries. Dropping Japanese would increase this problem.

I did A-level Japanese and it would be such a shame if it were scrapped, as those who study Japanese through this A-level are usually very dedicated to the subject and it's a valuable A-level to hold!

As a science teacher I have local industries asking me for the names of students studying science and Japanese. The engineering industry is short of bilingual engineers.
