Keep Japanese A Level

There is a demand for Japanese speakers in the UK job market. As a large firm, we struggle to fill these positions. Students given an option to prove their proficiency level in Japanese would help them differentiate themselves from their peers and successfully apply for these positions.

Please keep the Japanese A level for the children who are keen to learn Japanese in this country!!!

Please keep Japanese A level exam.

I have teaching Japanese privately for last 14years and also teaching in a school for last few years. Most of students I was teaching Japanese, they took GCSEs AND A LEVEL EXAMS and thier results were A*s. Those students who gained high results are now moved on to study further Japanese in University and moving in to Japan to work there. Most of people who I teach Japanese, they are really passionate about Japan. Please Do NOT TO STOP THE GCSE AND A LEVEL EXAMS OF JAPANESE. Japan remains a leading global economy and has increasing cultural influence and ties with the UK and other European countries.

Here in Milton Keynes there are many Japanese speakers and it makes sense for people working for the Japanese firms to be able to sit exams in the language.

My daughter is currently studying GCSE and hoping to go on studying to A level so please keep it. Thank you.

Japanese is such a colourful and interesting language it should most certainly be available to A level students. I wasn't fortunate enough to learn it at A-levels myself but if I had the option I wouldn't have hesitated! It is the only language (other than English) that I am remotely interested in.

Japanese is an important language. It is just as important as French, for instance, which UK students continue to learn for the sole reason that France is close. Ending GIVE will discourage learners.

It was through studying Japanese A-Level that I first realised my deep held interest in Japan, its language, and culture, and subsequently decided to study Japanese Studies at university, which in itself led to a wealth of experiences that I would not have otherwise had. It would be a real shame for teenagers like me to miss out on such an experience because they never had the initial opportunity to come into contact with a culture that is not necessarily very visible in the UK.

There are very many kids who are teaching themselves Japanese because they love the culture. How unusual and beautiful is that! Also it is much simpler than people would assume for no reason. At least, it is definitely easier than Chinese! Japanese is not to be abandoned - it is to be taught in more schools!

I really enjoyed doing A-level Japanese. Without it I couldn't have archived JLPT N1. It's a great language to learn and you will definitely benefit from it. Please keep A-level Japanese for new learners.

Please do not take away the motivated opportunity for young people to learn other language and culture!

A completely counterproductive and short sighted policy for a Britain which still wants a leading role in the global community. It's not all about learning Chinese!
