Please keep Japanese A level exams. Children have been learning Japanese and we should always keep the good relationship between UK and Japan even through the language which is the most important part of communication.

My children have both benefitted greatly from studying Japanese and the existence of a formal qualification in the form of an A level provides a great goal to help motivate them.
Japanese culture is increasingly popular throughout Europe and for this reason, as well as the opportunity it gives for UK students to seek work opportunities in Japan, I feel it would be a great pity to lose the Japanese A level qualification

There is a real lack of opportunity for UK students to study an Asian language to A-Level standard. Abandoning Japanese A-level narrows the opportunities still further, making language study in the UK even more Euro-centric.

To stop teaching a major Asian language at "A" Level is nonsensical, especially for a nation such a Britain which trades on a global basis and has beyond Europe outlook and that knows how important the Japanese market is to both the UK financial institutions and the high tech end of the UK manufacturing industries.

It would be pity to reduce the strong factor to support UK-Japan collaboration simply because of the lack of financial interest of a company who makes the exam question.

To get rid of this A level would mark yet another step in the ongoing deterioration of education.
