It is very important to keep Japanese A level as lots are still learning and lots of companies still appreciate Japanese language skills.

Japan is still an economic superpower. If some of us speak Japanese, we will be able to do better trade with Japan.

I am currently studying Japanese at GCSE and plan to carry it on for A level. I am half Japanese myself and my classmates and I are all very passionate about learning Japanese.

It seems strange to me that despite Japan being a trade partner to the UK and the fact that removing the language reduces jobs and opportunity , that the idea of removing the A level was even being considered ! Keep Japanese A level .

Extremely beneficial for the British to understand Japan through the language, a democratic and law-abiding country that influences Asia and other world. Useful when studying other Asian/Oriental languages.

My daughter is currently learning Japanese as her language choice at her Secondary school in Kent, how disappointing she will not have an option to go onto A level and a degree in this subject. In a global economy why would you remove an educational tool! Outrageous.

For cultural and economic reasons, it is important to maintain a variety of languages (including Japanese) at A level, which can then contribute to the foundation of studies of Modern Languages at University level.
