The beach is an essential part of homer where more than teenagers like to meet up. Whenever friends or family come to town, we like to drive onto the beach and camp, or make a bed in the back of a friends truck and watch the sunrise. We use the beach as more than an accessory, it's a part of our daily lives, and without it many of us would be forced to park in lots like at Safeway. Homer is already too small for us to find reliable places to spend lunch breaks and meet up with friends, we dont what little we have taken away.

As a local artist I believe that it is important to have easy access to remote local areas including the beach. It would be a shame to have to walk my art gear that far. Also concerning a rumor i hear about one of the issues being difficulty for the local police to easily patrol the area, I believe a small camera drone is easily programed by computer to do such things as well.

The hole homer council needs to be replaced. Their putting a tax on junk food too, and for the poor community, that's the only food they get. They need to put a granola tax so these rich basterds feel the pinch. Or better yet, tax the tourists. It's bs. Has any body heard of, No taxation with out representation. Fucking homer council

Not sure if I'm going the wrong way or I don't go far enough. Or I'm just late when I get there but I never see trash.

I cannot stand what the city is doing to us! Many many of my friends and family heat their homes by going to the beach and getting their coal. For some you may not know what it's like to have to heat your home on your own, you're rich. We get it. You get electric heat and you can afford to have your house at 90 degrees in the winter. OR you get some kind of oil but, you don't have to install it. You have the money to pay someone else. Well, fortunately for some of us real Alaskans, we heat our homes with coal. It burns longer, more hot, and it's not as costly. Taking away the beach, is like taking away our way of living. How are we supposed to get coal now? Anchor point beach? No. Stop the shananagins.

Far enough down the beach is where we can go and be undisturbed and additionally not be a disturbance.

I fully support the beaches staying open and accessible. I lost my son at bishops and love going there to visit him. I want to be able to continue this practice for all of my life. And dispite the fact that I've spent so much time there, I've never seen drug use or paraphernalia there. Nobody calls it drug each either.
