I get several loads of coal between Bishops beach and Mariner Park every year. I harvest it starting from the first August blow till May. I have been doing this for 20 years now.

Newbies to Homer cannot just take away our access to the beach! The "road" is clearly visible -- it's been worn into BEING a 'road' by use! KEEP IT OPEN FOR FULL ACCESS FOR EVERYONE!

We need access to get our coal. This is not the place for a few people at a fancy table to decide if we have a nice warm winter...Or not. Too many ludicrous laws in the lower 48 ..... our deciding factor in moving here was the simple, and levelheaded mindset we found so attractive.. Common guys...be real

We lived in Homer for 8 yrs and riding out on the beaches was a fun thing to do. We also gathered and burned coal. It's part of what makes Homer Homer.

Please keep beach access open to those that live in Homer and are from Homer...many depend on it and its not harming the land in any way which so ever.

PEOPLE MOVE UP THERE FROM THE LOWER 48 WHO WANT TO "GET AWAY FROM IT ALL" AND THE FIRST THING THEY DO, IS TAKE OVER AND BRING THEIR RULES WITH THEM!!! IT WAS THAT WAY 30YRS AGO TOO!!!! I WISH THEY WOULDN'T GO UP THERE AND ENFORCE THEIR LAWS ON THOSE THAT GREW UP THERE!!!! STAND STRONG HOMER!!!!!

Beach access with motorized vehicles was once a necessity for my family. It is a great benefit to this current generation of my family and should be considered customary and traditional use. Motorized vehicle use by responsible Alaskan residents is not a problem. However I would love to see some enforcement of current laws prohibiting littering. As a resident born and raised in Homer, the amount of trash and BUD LIGHT cans I see on the beach these days is disgusting.

I have been riding on Homer beaches for over 50 years. I have 20 acres on the beach with only beach access. We picked coal in the 80 and now ride 4wheelers. I couldn't reach my property by walking up the beach and make it back in one tide. I go with my kids and grandkids and have a fun family day. Please don't take our access away.
