I see no major benefit from this... Instead added restriction and access will add lawbreakers to the list of people that visit the beach.

I use the beach to get coal to heat my home, as well as the homes of a few others. I have never seen drug use, drug paraphernalia, or loud, drunken partiers. I have seen the occasional teen racing their vehicle across the sand, spinning brodies, but not near people, and nothing dangerous. I see lots of loose dogs - never a dog fight. One time, and that was today! I saw dog poo. Mostly it is peaceful and people & their animals have used the beach along with ATV's and vehicles without incident.

Beach use is limited in Homer as is. The ability to use vehicles on Homer beaches has been instrumental for decades for it's residents to gather coal, shellfish, recreate, and access remote areas we hold in high regard. If this is a matter of revenue generation then issue affordable yearly permits to those wishing to use and access the beaches. Regulate and enforce reckless driving but DO NOT take our right to use the land. Homer is notorious at biting off its nose to spite it's face. Change the paradigm and keep Homer FREE.

It is an access point for many coal collectors, kayakers. Also for my family making the traditional weekly Sunday drive. this should remain apart of our unique city and state that prides it self in freedom.

The beaches need to stay open to access bay all users, and not shut down by the actions of a few. I too rely on collecting beach coal for our winter heat source.

We walk this beach often and are not bothered by trucks and ATVs driving by us. Please keep it open to all!

Many people use the beach to collect coal as well as take their friends and family on a leisure ride on ATV's. There is no need to restrict our freedoms any further.

Need to keep it open for Atv's and pickups .A lot of homer residents go riding with friends and family .

My family and I have collected beach coal for our main source of heating for 34 years and as a family business we also collect and sell coal as our livelihood.. While I heard there would be an exception for coal collectors it was to be for the "west side of the beach" well if you had any clue as to where the coal is, THAT AREA IS NOT WHERE IT IS! You have to drive quite a bit down the east side to be able to get sometimes easier access to the abundance of it. To close it off to vehicles restricts the families who have taught their children to drive, fun family 4-wheeler rides. Why doesn't the police dept. purchase an ATV or side by side and patrol the area? If there is as much "drug use" or kids driving too fast down the beach, why not just ticket them? That would curb the majority of the problems.

We use this beach frequently with our kids and we wouldn't be able to reach the water with our sea kayaks or paddle boards without being able to drive further down near the water in our trucks. I am sad to see that anyone is considering denying all of our locals of the natural beauty we have available. If not for this then why even choose to live here?

I understand regulations and protecting wildlife and respecting personal property but I use the beach to collect coal to heat my home. It's very important.

We moved to Alaska and specifically to Homer in 1978 .. There was much more freedom then .. Over the years our freedom has been chipped away little by little .. This beach is important to all of us .. Please do not take the access away form us .. Let us keep the little bit of freedom that we have in this lovely town we call home ..
