Keep Homeless Camps Out of Tecolote Canyon

Keep homeless encampments out of tecolote canyon. They pose a huge threat for fires. I don't want to lose my home to a fire caused by homeless living in there illegally. 24 hours notice is more than enough time for them to vacate.

This has been going on for 30+ years now but getting worse as the homeless no there's little to no enforcement. Have you seen all the tents on the freeway going 5 south through downtown. Even our mayor won't do anything about it and it's our gateway for what tourists see going south. How about we take that federal building that the city bought and never moved in due to asbestos. Since it was used prior to the sale why not open it up to the homeless and let them have at it. Right now the homeless have taken over the new library downtown and nobody wants to go there because if it and the crime and killings going on there. Since we've opened our borders to Mexico we can always send them to TJ to let them counter act the illegals coming here. I don't know about you but I'm tired of giving out freebees to immigrants when we're dealing with our own problems here. If anything money should go to our vets who fought to allow us the freedom we still have. My grandparents were immigrants through Ellis Island and came in the proper way. Let's get back to that and let immigrants earn their way in not give them more than we give our own citizens.

To stop/curb homelessness: change bd laws AB109, AB147, Prop 57. Have community treatment programs with conseguences for refusal of treatment. Jail the homeless that commit crimes/harass people and stop releasing perpetrators. Increase shelter capacity in order to enforce current ruling

How long is San Diego going to let the homeless situation continue? It's getting worse and thus harder to fix every day. The dangers are real.

This is one of my favorite hiking trails and I don't feel safe using it anymore. Very unfortunate and unfair.

These encampments are potentially dangerous and need to be cleared.

We are losing our safe wonderful community

I believe no one has the right to take public space for personal use. Laws apply to everyone to maintain a civilized community. I believe homeless people need to be placed where they are safe, have access to showers and laundry, food and water, and are provided life skills help so they can start taking care of their lives. Allowing them to take over and damage canyons is not a solution.

This is a continuing issue here and the beach areas.

I realize that Homelessness is a difficult problem. However, I do agree that more emphasis needs to be put on promptly addressing complaints. Especially public health and safety issues.

Please don't let our city get any worse. Our homeless problem affects our tourism money, public health, crime, and filth where there used to be clean, safe streets. Now, now is the time to listen to the residents.... Please, please get it done before more people move out of the city we held dear.

Fire hazard - in violation of many laws. Do what's right and necessary. Taxpayers have rights too.

Homeless camps in our canyons are extremely dangerous as it is only a matter of time until a fire gets started and endangers an entire community! The city must do something!
