This is a landmark not a political pawn. Leave it be for generations to come. Most that would have it taken down and are offended by it .. I would say they aren't offended at all. I bet they have never even read what it says. Don't let a (few ) dictate what is best for the majority.

Its been here this long why are people offended by it now it should stay that soldier did alot of good in his life

Destroying monuments and statues does not change history. The United States was parted by a war where many people from both sides fought and died. That cannot be changed and destroying a statue that has been part of our town for many years will not erase the past. We as a nation need to remember that if we are Americans we stand up, salute the flag, raise our voices in singing our national anthem. If you do not like and respect your country the move to another one but quit trying to change this one.

That statue has stood there the whole time I grew up and went to high school. It would be a shame and down right disgrace if anyone tries to take it down or any other statues for that matter. It's not gonna change what happened, just adds more fuel to the fire.
