I moved to the area largely because of this off leash dog park. I would hate to see it go to an on-leash dog park.

There's only like three dog parks in the city.. this is the only one in Orleans... keep it!!

This is the only area in walking distance from my home where my dogs can run free. It was also a reason why I moved into this area.

We need some ideas on how to make users more responsible for cleaning up after their dog. One good idea is the placement of bags along the walking path. I will help with this. Please let me know if I can help in other ways.

I am a person with limited mobility and am no longer able to walk my dog, I benefit from the off-leash park, as I can let my dog run and play with other dogs for exercise.
As there a very few off-leach dog parks that I am able to go to, I really need Heritage park to remain an off leash park.

This park is a social place for everyone, not just the dogs. It's a 4 season, 365 place for everyone to meet and enjoy the fresh air and scenery. Please keep the park off leash so that we can enjoy our daily canine therapy and exercise, and the company of community members and neighbours.

Heritage Dog Park not only allows responsible owners and their dogs the freedom to enjoy off-leash exercise and play, it's also an integral part of our community bringing people together -- allowing them to have a common place to meet and interact while out with their dogs. Redesignating it to an on-leash area would change the dynamics and negatively affect the park and community.
