I use this park everyday. Having the off leash portion taken away to make way for yet another baseball diamond would be a disservice for many people in the community who have dogs and look at those dogs as an important member of the family, sometimes their only family.

I am a local dog trainer and dog owner. We use this Park and the woods every single day to walk out 2 dogs. Dogs need opportunities to be off leash to explore and sniff and play. It would be very sad if we could not bring them to Heritage anymore, they love it, it is wonderful and people are very responsible. Thank you!

Off-leash dog areas are in short supply in Ottawa and it would be a shame to lose one.

This is one of the few places in the city where dogs can run around and be happy and find mud to roll in. Why would anyone want to take that away?

I went to the grand opening of Kemptville's Ferguson Forest dog park in September. It is a beautiful area with two fenced areas, one exclusively for small dogs and the other for any dog. There is a lot of green space and a forested area. The organizers, dogs and owners love it and are very proud of it. With exception of the nice fence, Heritage has this beautiful space for our pups to enjoy too. My Aussies get their socialization and much needed exercise jumping over, slaloming around or under tree trunks and hills in the forest. You can see the joy in their eyes. Please don't take this gem away from the dogs. All the dogs that go to Heritage are respectful of one another and the humans. As many have said, we need more spaces like this, not fewer. As is, I travel from the far East end of Orleans to get to it. But my dogs are worth it!

For 2 olud years my dog and I have enjoyed this park on a daily basis since moving to the Orleans area. It is our solace, our break from the hustle of life. A olace to let our dogs enjoy the company of other dogs and get all their energy out. Please don't take this away. Many many ppl would be without a place to let their dogs be active, silly and happy! Thank you for your consideration.

Please leave this beautiful and well-known off leash dog park space to the hundreds of dogs in Orleans that use it for play, socialization, training and exercise. We only moved to chapel hill north because of this park and its proximity to our home. Our pets are family and I'm sure you would not tear down a children's play area for a diamond that will only be used a few months of the year. Dogs and their families use this park 365 days a year!!

Everyone, it looks like this petition needs to get a new life. Recently the city bureaucrats put the little league proposal on the agenda at council. Jody mitic objected and chastised them for placing it on the agenda after he clearly explained that the community does not support this. Perhaps the originator of the proposal should present it formally to both the chapel.hill north community association and the chateauneuf community association and the clerk of city council. The city bureaucracy needs to be held accountable. The story is in the ottawa citizen by jon willing thus evening.

The dog park is enjoyed by many residents all day long, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It makes no sense to forfeit this rare space for MORE little league diamonds, which is rarely used.

Changing designations is not necessary. Enforcing existing rules would suffice.
