Why is it that a small few like to ruin things that work. Dogs need to socialize as people do. If you don't like it go somewhere else!

If the rationale for rescinding off-leash status is owners not collecting poop, I have these questions :
1. Is the assumption that irresponsible owners will start to collect poop if dogs are leashed? I don't agree.
2. Is the assumption that group punishment is reasonable? If so, where else should it apply? Or would perhaps ticketing actual offenders be more just?
3. If people don't like off-leash dogs, they can go basically anywhere else in Orleans. Who is complaining and why?
A decision to rescind off-leash will be fought against vigorously by me.

Even though I am not a resident of Orleans I use this park daily. Dogs need space to explore and use their energy while socializing with other dogs and people. They have a great park at Heritage that provides these things. Please do not change the park it's something the animals and their humans need!

Heritage Park is a well used and cherished place for dogs every day of the year. It's a social meeting place for neighbours, friends and the dogs of course.

This is such a great park to bring your dog for a healthy off leash run! We'd hate to see the designation change.

We (dog owners) use this park 365 days a year. There is nothing else that compares.. giving this area up for a baseball field or other is money NOT well spent.
