We desperately need a off leash dog park in Orleans. Dogs need to run freely to release their energy. We have all kind of facilities in Orleans but no off leash dog park what so ever. I'm sure that I am speaking for many dog owner living in Orleans. Please keep this park a off leash dog park.

Lets keep Heritage Dog Park as an off-leash play area for dogs and as a social place for their owners.

This park has been off leash for years and I would hate to loose this option as a proud dog owner. I own a "PTSD Service Dog" and he enjoys his time there to the fullest on a daily basis.

This is the friendliest dog park in Ottawa and there are so few places in the city let alone in Orleans where dogs can run and play off leash

Providing off-leash areas for our dogs builds communities and is so important to the physical and mental health of these highly social animals.

The number of people (and their dogs) who use this park on a daily basis far outnumbers the baseball players who would use the park only on some evenings and weekends during 4 months of the year. From a usage perspective, keeping the park as a designated off leash dog area benefits, by far, a larger population.

Heritage needs to stay as it is. During the summer month I have only ever seen the original baseball diamond use twice a week max and on weekend every second weekend. The is no justification in the need of another diamond

We have walked our dog at Heritage every single day for the last 6 years - rain, snow, heat and flood. In that time, I have seen many changes to the area. As the park has seen a steady increase in the number of dog walkers, it has seen a corresponding decrease in the number of teenage drinkers, partiers and drug users/dealers. There used to be quite a problem, but with dog walkers strolling by on a regular basis, it cuts down on the privacy required for illegal activities. Additionally, constructing another baseball diamond would require considerable regrading of the land. As anyone who uses the park regularly knows, it floods all spring, and after heavy rainstorms. Significant regrading would possibly put additional strain on the drainage in the roadway, which already has difficulty keeping up during heavy rainstorms, putting the roadway and neighbouring homes at risk for flooding. With many other baseball diamonds available and underused, I don't feel it is necessary to construct yet another one, and displace the number of current year-round users.

Hello, please continue your support of this off-leash dog park. It's the only place our dogs can go and be free to play. Very little of us have large enough backyards for them to really play and burn off some energy. Thank you in advance

This park is enjoyed by many 365 days/year. Baseball season is only a few months/year. What a terrible waste of beautiful space and taxpayers money for it to be only utilized seasonally when there are other reasonable options. It is a safe distance from the road for the dogs. If it is moved near the library, people will ultimately complain that dogs are too close to playground etc.

I am very much against the Orleans Little League Baseball Association’s proposal to rezone the area, relocate the dog park to a small parcel of land located behind the Orleans library on Orleans Blvd and build a second diamond. There is no justification to relocate the dog park in order construct a second baseball diamond when there are numerous other diamonds available within Orleans. The park, in its present format, provides dogs, owners and their families a valuable place socialize and exercise. Don’t take away our park.

This is one of the only areas in Orleans where dogs can play and socialize. This is a big draw to our area. It is used by many people everyday. I can't imagine why this designation would be changed. Who's idea is that?

I bring my dog to Heritage Dog Park pretty much every day. My dog loves to play here with his friends! I have also made friends at the park. We love to unwind and shoot the breeze as we watch our dogs play. It is an irreplaceable, special place that brings so much joy to the community! Keep the status quo!
