The timing of the implementation of this is disgusting. When household are at the brink with interest rate rises, this will have negative impacts on local communities. Regularly commuting through hume City council, the amount of illegal dumping is disgusting. These costs will force household to take alternate measures. Do not make it harder for people to do the right thing.
There should be a commercial charge to dump green waste, but for households it should be a service that is provided especially due to the rates we pay.
Further to this, the increased fire threat potential on property and illegal dumping sites will further impact the community.

We pay enough rates to NOT have to pay more.
Making residents already pay for a service will lead to unruly untidy gardens. This will only penalise the poor residence! If you want a community who generously keeps gardens tidy and has a good rotation with getting bark to keep gardens safe and keeping weeds at bay you need to keep FREE garden waste!!!

No free green waste at transfer station is a greedy MRSC.
We have no hard rubbish collection and pay exorbitant rates for or waste management services as it is.
As a pensioner, these costs and fees put an additional strain on an already tight budget.
Do you want rate payers to start burning everything moving forward??
MRSC needs to do better!

Selling the mulch surely evens out any cost associated with receiving the green waste.

This council are robbing our community. High rates and can't drop of green waste for free. This council will see more dumping of green waste in sensitive environments and more residents burning green waste . Not very environmentally friendly council

Green waste should most definitely be free, this new charge will only cause more roadside dumping.

This is a very poor decision for MRS residents, more dumping, bonfires and overgrowth. This will not end well whatever the 'cost recovery' rational is.

As we have too much green waste to compost, we shouldn’t have to burn it .

I use this service when cleaning up prior to fire season. I’m not in a position to be able to pay for green waste disposal so this charge will significantly impact my ability to safeguard my property against fire.
