Wow, the council never cease to amaze me with what they take away. Maybe it’s time to follow QLD and get rid of all these councils that are filling there pockets and have 3 large councils looking after the state.

Please rethink this. We can’t afford extra costs with the cost if living right now & we need to maintain our property.

In a bush fire prone area you would think it better to be able to drop green waste free rather than it being dumped on road sides or burnt on days that it is not safe to burn, not everyone watches the weather when burning

This should be a free service as I need to keep my property dry vegetation free leading up to summer

I have a large property and this does not encourage home owners to prepare their land for the up coming bush fire season .

As pensioners, any cost increase makes things more difficult. Even a couple of tip passes per year would be better than a blanket charge.

I believe the decision to charge for green waste in this rural area is a grave mistake lacking in foresight. As a person who volunteers with local revegetation groups to remove invasive weeds such as gorse and blackberry, this is going to lead to people dumping green waste and the spread of weeds and increased fire risk. There is a cost of living crisis and not everybody is responsible or cares much for the environment. The cost of living crisis has only made this worse. Many people won’t pay, they’ll just dump. Factor in the cost of weed removal, rubbish removal etc. and also the pollution and increased fire risk from people burning off. This is a really poor sighted decision that will have massive consequences for our region in terms of air quality, liveability etc.

in a tree heavy rural area which is constantly windy, branches consistently fall and people will start dumping illegally which when dry will lead to increase bushfire risk.

We have nothing in the Macedon Ranges as it is. No hard waste collection or tip passes. Give us a break.

ridiculous counterintuitive measure Council promotes recycling and maintaining properties such that firehazard material is reduced (ie green waste ) This runs absolutely contrary to the objective of recycling and property maintenance Also will reduce the amount of mulch available to residents Suggest council concentrates on the basics and maybe review other nion essential expenditure

Crazy idea. Will result in increased fire risk as people cannot afford to pay for cleaning up green waste

Charging for green waste will result in illegal dumping and increased fire risk with people unable to afford to get rid of green waste
