The councils wonder why people dump rubbish! Because taking anything to the tip costs more than most people can afford.

Green waste should be free if you sell it as mulch

Ridiculous we should be charged- we get no kerb side pick up, the council turns green waste into mulch so it’s not like it’s a “waste”. This affects bushfire preparedness and shows just how out of touch with the community and money hungry the council truely is!

Surely with the amount we pay council every year, Green Waste could be able to be taken to Transfer Stations free. They on sell it, and recover funds.

Charging for free. Waste dumping will encourage illegal dumping… this move by council is stupid

Removing free green waste drop off will result in property owners conducting more burn-offs or allowing more waste to accumulate. This will increase pollution and fire risk. Green waste drop off should remain free for residents.

Incentivize people to do the right thing, this does the opposite. Bushfire risk increased, illegal dumping increased and lack of property prepardeness increased. MRSC needs to re-think this one.

Now that we are being charged for green waste- this will lead to illegal dumping or burning the waste contributing to even worse air quality
