Keep green waste free in the Macedon Ranges

Residents green waste should be totally free given we are charged huge rate fees annually

We are already experiencing illegal rubbish dumping around the Shire as a result charging for Green Waste removal - what was the Council thinking?!

Ridiculous price gouging

As a rate & business paying member of the community I strongly believe that any green waste delivered to our local recycling & waste facilities should be included in the rates we already pay for this service. If council has too much green waste, or too much compost going unused, then management can use it for park’s & public spaces. It is illogical to charge us twice for a service council insisted we have, we accepted the idea, we accepted when we paid our rates, now council needs to accept they chose to manage it, without charging us more for the ‘privilege’ of completing your request.

Keep green waste FREE

This is an extra impost on small land owners, the negative repercussions will be bad. The larger properties don't take their green waste to the station anyway, they do a big burn.

What the hell do we get from the council for exorbitant rates? Just received mine and was shocked to see the price of rubbish collection for all bins! Included repair of roads? Well I haven’t seen that! One very greedy council who should be helping their shire residents especially when times are tough and people are struggling just to keep their heads above water with everything, including being able to afford to feed their families! This is just another kick in the gut! What about a rebate on mowing our nature strips which are owned by the council!

I purchased a property that was very needy in immediate clearing up. Lucky for me at that time green waste was still free and I took several large trailer loads. My green waste can only go into a trailer as the bin is too small. Like many, my ride on mower mulches so there is no need for disposal. I feel that because of this charge people will be less likely to clear their properties adding fuel to any potential fire.

Green waste should be free, especially during bushfire season.

We pay high rates as it is. Encourage free green to keep Macedon clean.

Yet another ill thought out plan by our pollies who are so out of touch with the real people of the regions.

How are older people to get rid of green waste. Even if the elderly can’t afford a bin. You would surely not want them driving a car with a trailer attached to the car

Please dont go ahead with this charge MRSC. It will make our shire look like dumping ground

It will lead to illegal dumping of green waste in forest areas, and therefore weeds and evasive plants will grow and devastate our forests.

NO to council charging for green waste.

As a professional firefighter and resident of the Macedon Ranges, I am appalled by this change.

I think council should inform rate payers of increases of any sort.

Do not charge residents for green waste disposal. We pay enough in rates
