We are a high risk fire region. Why on earth would you encourage people to burn off by financially penalising recycling?

Have the consequences of charging for green waste been thoroughly investigated?

Very poor move. What on earth are our rates for?

Keep green waste disposal free for our MRSC community as it benefits the people and the planet.

Green waste management should be a council service, especially since the change to burn off rules.

I am not sure why we pay Rates, sadly we get nothing for them, and yet we still pay at the Transfer Station.. What a sad place we have become when people are struggling to make ends meet..

It should remain free. There is already too much rubbish being dumped in the pine forest as it is. With a fee added, it will only increase the amount of rubbish dumped.

Poor decision by council that needs to be reversed. This decision my cause a reluctance of landholders to clean up properties resulting in higher fire risks to the community. Dumping of green waste, resulting in exotic weeds being introduced to native vegetation. Increased burning off and pollution. Reduced recycling of green waste. We're on 8 acres and quite frankly, 1 FOGO bin is inadequate, especially as our rates are nearly $4,000 per year.

The Macedon Ranges Council charges us more and more each year for less services . We used to get 5 free passes every year for the tip and now that’s gone. If people can’t dump green waste for free then it’s going to add to the summer fire hazard as people can’t afford to pay extra tip fees. Hell we can barely afford to eat and warm our house.

Much of the green waste comes from council verge area . Surely as we are a so called green municipality that this should be free o all residents

This will deter people composting and lead to dumping of green waste.

Don't preach climate change, then force people living outside the town to burn in preparation for fire season

Needs to be free - especially in the Ranges

Needs to be free. Most people are struggling. Enough of raking in the $ and not improving the ranges.

If this goes ahead, we will be seeing more rubbish dumped out in the bush and rural roads. The Shire sell the mulch this Isa great representation of their greed double dipping

This is a no-brainer. Disappointed that council has made this decision. Please listen to the community

This is very disappointing.

Green waste should be free for residents only. And to keep this, ID should be shown at gate for proof.

You must have enough from our outrageous rates to pay for this service. You call yourselves a "green council". Disgraceful.

Don't we already pay enough in our yearly rates?
