A charge for green waste will result in more people burning their green waste, increasing carbon emissions and increasing bushfires when their burnoffs escape. I live in a rural living zone and increased burnoffs in my neighborhood increases the likelihood of a bushfire threatening my property. Free disposal of green waste reduces bushfire risk.

Keep free green waste dumping available otherwise there will be more roadside dumping or private burn offs

This is a requirement to safeguard against bushfires..by charging residents, you’re contributing to less cleanup and removal of debris…council should be responsible.

This will add to illegal dumping, and, more burnoffs increasing hazards for wildlife and residents.

We get such little value for our rates as it is. The balance between a profitable government, the cost of living and living in a fire risk area is off here.

There is enough pollution from people burning green waste already. This will make it worse.

Green waste disposal should absolutely be free.
I believe the transfer stations should be free for all waste disposal. Might stop illegal dumping on the sides of the road.

Ridiculous proposal as l by council. Will discourage cleanups, create more work for CFA and encourage roadside dumping instead

Thanks for organising this Tom. Council make a lot of money from rates and selling the mulch back to residents.

Please keep green waste free
Green waste should be free especially as we’re in a bushfire zone
How can the Macedon Ranges Shire Council charge for green waste to be dropped off to them for free?!
People will just dump their green waste in the forests !
