The church is our literal good neighbor. It’s a huge community asset and we’d like it to continue being that.

Our shape note (Sacred Harp) group sang some of our all-day singings there and it is a lovely space. I would love to see it kept for the community.

A wonderful wonderful place! would make an incredible community center. Building is beautiful and warm-feeling inside, with terrific accoustics - several different-sized rooms, including a great kitchen. The grounds are amazing - a genuine native Oak Savannah habitat.

To lose Good Shepherd Church as a community gathering place would be a loss to not only our neighborhood but to the much larger community as well. Many people from Eugene and the larger community come to the church for memorials, music events, and social gatherings.

The facility has been a gathering place for the community for decades, it should certainly remain an asset devoted to community functions and the enjoyment of music and the arts.

I have lived in the Spencer Creek neighborhood since 1969 and have attended countless community events at the Good Shepherd Church. What a loss it would be to me, my family and neighbors!

One of the greatest joys of country life is country community. We pool together our interests, talents, and mutual support and make the world a better place. This is the world I want my children and grandchildren to grow up in. I am against the sale of this historic community meeting hall for private interests, especially as a "real estate investment opportunity." (How sad!)

This is a beautiful facility, with good acoustics, a fine kitchen and flexible gathering/seating areas. The grounds are spacious and shady. If it can be taken over by a nonprofit that fosters an inclusive community center, and that is able to support itself, it would be an asset to the community even beyond Spencer Creek.

For many years I enjoyed an annual gathering at Good Shepherd, singing 4 part harmony in that beautiful setting with the peaceful surroundings. It is indeed a treasure to be preserved and made accessible to the surrounding community. I fully support the efforts to transfer oversight to the non-profit group which will enable community members to gather and to enjoy its facilities for years to come.

I've been participating in, and attending, musical events at the church for 30 years! COVID interrupted many programs but I know we'll be back! It would be a shame to lose this community space! There's nothing like it. The grange is good for outdoor and some musical events, but the setting and acoustics and accessibility are much better at Good Shepherd. I would be happy to donate what I can to make it happen!

The loss of this church and community center would be a tremendous loss for all who have gathered there and for the future of this community.
