As a parent of 2 successful CR grads, now in their 30's, it's appalling that this is being considered. Not enough language options are offered as it is. What happened to Council Rock...none better.

It would be very short sighted to remove German from the curriculum. Having traveled in Europe I have seen the languages of business and they are German and English.

I attended CRN from 2009-2012. I had so many friends take German and love it. I personally took Latin and I'm proud that I learned a language that most students don't get the opportunity to learn.

It is important for students to have a choice of different languages to pursue while in High School. Students are engaged in learning when they are actively involved in picking their language. So many friends benefited from their German classes while I attended Council Rock.

Let's keep CRSD a strong district that allows opportunity for many, rather than one that offers the basics. Cannot be #1 if you are not providing students with the best.

I orginally chose to learn German at Holland Middle School because of the cultural events and study abroad opportunities associated with the program. I went on to continue studying the language at CR South and earned a minor of German Language at American University. I participated in the exchange program in high school and it was one of the best experiences of my life, it was both fun and educational. Seeing that there is also such a strong German presence in Pennsylvania historically, it would be a shame to cut this from the district's language options.

I took German for five years while at Richboro Middle School and Council Rock South. I also participated in the German exchange program. It was the best class I took throughout high school, while receiving AP credit for college. I still keep in touch with my German exchange student. I also continued my study of the German language and culture in college. It would be a shame if future CR students were not given this same opportunity.

I didn't go to Council Rock but I have a lot of friends who did and it would be very sad if the German language was cut. It's a beautiful language.

German at Council Rock was one of the major factors that led me to engage the world globally as a college student and business man. A decision against that would hurt future leaders and continue the silo effect to normalized skills. Let kids dare to be different, it will get them noticed.

German is perhaps one of the most important languages currently. Germany has the largest economy of the EU and practically runs the entire EU. As a German double major at Temple I can assure everyone that there are lots of opportunities out there (including so many in Philly, NYC, and DC) and people with advanced German language knowledge will go far. It is a beautifully structured language and is native to some of the greatest minds in literature, music, science, engineering and so much more. It would be a huge disadvantage to the students of council rock if German was not offered.

German is important in our school system, it's another language to have. A lot of people benefit from the program. A great deal of my friends have/ are taking German and are getting the benefits of learning not only another language but another culture and perhaps have the opportunity to travel to Germany and speak the language.

We need to keep German in our schools. It has provided me with countless opportunities that other languages cannot provide.

Any credible language program includes German.
This is invaluable to our students!
