Gardner park/woods have been there longer than franklin square and most of the residents as well... if they do not want to have corporate stores in their backyards i feel as if gastonia should grant them that wish!

Building any sort of structure here will be a detriment to all of the residents of Gardner Woods. Not only are the woods a sound buffer, but they also help to keep out unwanted traffic and crime.

There are too many empty buildings and traffic is already too heavy in Franklin Square. It would be an ecological disaster to build in these woods that frequently flood!

We don't need any more big box stores. We have several sitting empty in our city already. The city council needs to preserve this green space and possibly turn it into a park.

Why not use the old K-Mart building of another that is vacant??? Oh, I forgot, it's all about the all mighty dollar. No regard for green space and residents.

Enough of our woods and sound barrier are gone already. The traffic noise has invaded our neighborhood tremendously as buildings and concrete have replaced the natural protection from water run off, heat, and traffic noise.

Keep Franklin Woods!
There is already to many businesses on East Franklin and in this area of Franklin Square. We do not need or want any more traffic. Development on the West side of Gastonia would make more sense and help boost the economy of the West side. The East is over developed.
Removing the greenway (Franklin Woods) and adding more development and add more traffic. The surrounding properties would suffer from more traffic noise, a walkway would only invite unwanted strangers in the neighborhood and greatly affect the market values of these homes that border Franklin Woods. Gardner Park, Gardner Woods is one of the founding neighborhoods of Gastonia and should be left to continue to be a great area to live and enjoy.

Rezoning of this property needs to be declined. The area needs to be preserved. There is too much traffic already with the existing development. There is already dark space in the current development that can be utilized.

We do not need another soulless strip mall of abandoned stores creating worse traffic nightmares. Leave the woods as a natural buffer, visual beauty, home to wildlife and natural drainage.

I have lived in Gardner Woods for 27 years. The neighborhood has been subject to much intrusion from traffic to business congestion over those years. I live on Pamela and I foresee the green buffer at the end of my street destroyed and my neighborhood being opened up to Franklin Square whether or not there is a cut through or just the wooded barrier being removed. This additional intrusion will result in the devaluation of our property. If this is the city's intention, they must know they will be losing tax dollars on this deal!

I'm especially asking that this area be preserved as green space. Please do not clear cut this property in retaliation. There are other options. Options that not only residents want but plenty of other city residents are asking for. Keep Franklin Wood - just as they are now!
