Keep Father Thom Miller at Sacred Heart/St. Raphael Parish

Please bring Fr Thom back to St. Joes!!!!!

I am a 77 year old grandmother who is a member of neither Sacred Heart nor St. Joseph's, but who has been attending St. Joseph's parish with my daughter and her family for a few years now. My granddaughters adore Fr. Miller. He is welcoming, kind, understanding, non-judgemental and compassionate. Young people need such a priest, and the Church needs young people. It is understandable that the people of Sacred Heart are upset with his leaving, as were the parishioners of St. Joseph.

Please keep Fr. Thom at St. Raphael

Fr. Thom is the reason we joined St. Joseph's Parish a few years ago. His spiritual leadership, compassion, and advocacy is inspiring to many, many people. My wife and I and our children all miss him dearly. Please consider bringing him back to St. Joseph's and to the ministry that flourished under his leadership!

Please reconsider the relocation of Fr. Thom from Sacred Heart Parish or as an alternative sending him back to St. Joseph’s Parish in O’Hara Township.

We would love to have Fr. Thom back at St. Joseph's in O'Hara. He is a wonderful priest and parish leader.

Our family knows Father Thom well since we are parishioners at St. Josephs, and our kids attend Sacred Heart School. He brings such a warm welcome and outgoing presence to the school and to mass and is the kind of spiritual leader that is clearly needed by the Catholic Church, given the times we live in. Our family is devastated to hear this news and our kids are yet again subject to another personnel change at the school before receiving sacraments later this year. We sincerely urge the bishop to reconsider the impact to the school children and to all the parishioners with yet another disruptive change.

St. Joseph parish would gladly have him back. For a diocese under such scrutiny you should operate with transparency. This is yet another disappointment.

Sacred Heart of St Joseph’s Fr Thom is exemplary as a deciple oh Jesus Christ, kind, loving, faithful, faith and love of God and people first trumps rules kinda deciple.

I am not a member of Sacred Heart but I do attend on occasion. Father Thom is an example of Christ's love and grace to so many. I believe given time, the love and grace of Christ will transform Sacred Heart. If it is decided that he is to be reassigned, I believe he should go back to St Joseph's where he is dearly loved and missed.

If Father Thom is to be relocated – I would request that he be relocated back to Saint Joe’s on Dorseyville Road.He is greatly missed in our parish. As someone who grew up in the Sacred Heart Parish I understand the desire to have in there as well, but our parish is suffering greatly without him.

If he must be reassigned, please send him back to St.Joseph’s Parish in O’Hara. He is missed dearly and beloved.

Father Thom, in his brief time with us, has been an incredible influence on our parish. His earnest nature is refreshing and direly needed at Sacred Heart at this moment (particularly for the youth, who I know from personal experience often struggle to connect there). His sermons are powerful, and his frequent invitations to convene with him for the Sacrament of Penance show his deep and personal care for his new parish. His kindness shines, and is in my eyes quite Christlike. I’m sure my fellow parishioners will agree when I say that he inspires us by his example to live our faith to a higher degree. Admittedly, there may be more to the story than I know. However, to claim that the decision is the result of much consultation with the laity is insulting, when the sheer amount of signatures and comments here indicate that there clearly was none. Furthermore, to blindside a community already struggling to find our faith with this opaque decision—particularly at this moment in the Church—is entirely inappropriate. We deserve and expect better.

Keep Father Tom at Sacred Heart

Father Thom was a breath of fresh air for our parish, an inspiration to our children and quite a welcome change. It is a shame this change was silenced by intransparency. Parishioners deserve a voice...and they fund the parish and the school. Everyone has a choice.

I am not an official parishioner as I live outside of the boundaries but attend mass at Sacred Heart regularly. I also attended elementary and high school there. Although I was alarmed at the loss of most of the choir and the "shout outs" for no apparent reason to individuals during what is supposed to be a homily, I am equally alarmed by the dismissal of Fr. Miller without explanation or apparent consultation. I hope that the Bishop will thoroughly exp lain this decision to a delegation from the parishes and accept their consel.

I’m not a parishioner at either church but I have a lot of loved ones that will be impacted by his move. Just reading all of these comments under this petition, shows me how comfortable these children are with him. Why all of these devastating priest replacements? You aren’t allowing these families and children to feel comfortable with the priests of their church. Leave well enough alone! Saint Raphael’s is making it on thin ice. Do we want the church and the catholic school to stay open? Moving the priest after only 5 months isn’t looking to positive. I’m not understanding all of these abrupt decisions being made throughout the entire Catholic Church. We need some explanation and we need to be involved in these decisions.
