Dornell taught me so much when I was a LACHSA student. The entire school, especially the music department, suffers a great loss without him. LACHSA needs Dornell

Dornell is honestly one of the only people in the music department who actually cares about the students. I learned way more from him than most teachers in the vocal department, and unlike those same teachers, he was a caring teacher concerned for my wellbeing. And that type of teacher is rare anywhere, let alone at a school where the kids really need him, like LACHSA.

As a parent of a former student who was member of the Jazz Vocal Ensemble. I have to say loosing Dornell will leave a void in the department overall not just the position he holds. Dornell goes above and beyond to support the faculty and especially the students. I have to say that Dornell is an asset for the school. He is always willing to go the extra lengths to make sure the students are representing themselves at their best in turn showing LACHSA in good light..Dornell Carr is one of the last educators you want to leave LACHSA!

Though I went to Lachsa for a semester, Dornell was an amazing person/ teacher/ mentor/ friend/ father figure to a lot of the students. He would give advice and kept the music department alive! It would be sad seeing someone important as him leave the school. It's the teacher that makes Lachsa what it is.

These people have been so important in LACHSA's history. I am so thankful with Dornell, I have learned so much from him and the most important thing about it is that he keeps the music department alive and with good energy, he is a huge inspiration of all of alumni and students. I want to still be proud of my school and be able to support in a future as long as we have the same faculty. Look at how many amazing and successful musicians have been from LACHSA and I talk to them and there is not a single successful musician that hasn't said how amazing and necessary Dornell is in this school. Thank you.

Coming all the way from Texas, I saw a friend post about the teachers and I will keep positive vibes and hope that they stay there. If it were my school I would hope students would come together and do the same, and fight to keep their teachers there.

I was a music student at LACHSA and I graduated in 2013. I can honestly say that Dornell has had a positive impact on all of the students in the music department. It would be a shame to fire someone so inspirational and important to the music department.

What is going on at LACHSA. A new principal who is firing the cream of the crop in education and devotion to the students. Perhaps it would be wiser to wait a while and get a true understanding about which of LACHAS teachers and aids are its stars!!

Dornell is a staple to the LACHSA community. As an alumni, I can truly say that Dornell has been an amazing support through my years as a music student and cannot imagine the department without him. He is not only talented musician, but his legacy began as a student at LACHSA. He has helped cultivate LACHSA into what it is today. Without him, a piece of LACHSA is missing. Let him stay.

Dornell is easily one of the best teachers at LACHSA. People WILL drop out if he is gone because he creates a serene and constructive environment in a usually very stressful place. His spirit is among the brightest I have ever come across and he never puts anyone down. He is a reason I look back fondly at LACHSA and without him your music program will go down in talent.

As a former visual art student at LACHSA it was hard for me to feel integrated into a different department especially when i took the piano class my senior year, but Dornell always made me feel welcomed and loved in class and was such a loving teacher and mentor, even to this day, i'd stop by his classroom and say hello when visiting. He's essential to LACHSA and the development of LACHSA. Dornell needs to stay.

He is great, he has so much to give to his students. He is always available to them when the head of the department isn't. He is willing to help them beyond what any other professor at Lachsa would do. He is an inspiration to many and the music department would not be the same without him. Please keep him.
