Please do not move the DHOH program from Oster. My son went to this program starting with the 1st grade and it was the best thing to happen to him. Being a part of Oster is as important as the DHOH.

My best friend attended this program, and it changed his life. This is more than a program. It's a brighter future for people.

This program has been so beneficial to many students and families. I have volunteered with these amazing kids and have seen how hard they work and how much they appreciate this school. Please keep DHOH going at Oster Elementary!!

I attended this school and the program was beyond excellent, additionally it is logical to be close to other two schools that have deaf program as well.

This seems like an instrumental program at this school. It would be wrong to take away something that helps the community.

I student taught at Oster Elementary. Although it was during summer school, I witnessed a team of professionals who love their students and the staff goes above and beyond to meet each student's needs. Students with disabilities have a difficult time as it is. Why move them and make things harder for them? Please leave the program where it is and support these students. Isn't that our ultimate goal as educators?

I want the DHOH program to stay at Oster. My son was in kindergarten with mainstreamed kids from the DHOH. He got to meet the kids and befriend them. They were his classmates and no different from his other friends. He was exposed to sign language and he learned many signs that he still remembers today. Having the DHOH students in his classroom enhanced his class and gave my son exposure to people who have different abilities than he has. The Oster HSC always includes the DHOH in any programs that are offered at Oster. All of the students at the Oster campus benefit from having the program on the Oster campus. There will be a huge void in the community if the program leaves our campus.

As both a parent and a staff member at Oster, I have seen the tremendous benefit of having the DHOH program on Oster's campus. My 3 daughters are better for having shared their education with DHOH students and staff - they have learned empathy, crucial skills for working with people of all abilities, and had excellent adult role models in their classrooms that would not have been there if interpreters and aides would not have been working with them. Please keep the program at Oster!

My daughters, Maura and Catie, are better people for being exposed and involved with students, teachers and interpreters from DHOH. They can sign, which is an amazing benefit but also they have more compassion and respect for people because of knowing so many students from DHOH that they have interacted with through the years. This program has changed us, but changed so many by knowing that you can achieve anything with support and encouragement from your peers. Keep this program at Oster!!!!

If this was your child, what would you do? I hope you'd sign this petition and keep your child in the Oster family. It works, let it work here forever.
