Don't move Oster, we had a lot of memories there. Don't you have an emotional intelligence? My friends and teachers are just more than friends, they are my 2nd family. And in the future, I want to send my children to school there. Imagine what will happen if your graded school were moved. How do you think this going to affect the people? How are they going to feel if they are suffering the loss of their friendships and the ruin of their life? Please, rethink this, talk to your family, friends, neighbors, even strangers, and see what are their opinions.

As a realtor, I know this program benefits the neighborhood. I've talked with many parents who feel the DHOH program is important to all the students.

I'm a former student atending leigh as a freshman. I really want to keep the DHOH at Oster because of many reasons. Several are that I loved the people that attended and worked at Oster, both the dhoh teachers and the mainstream teachers are understanding. I used to be and still am a mainstream student and the teachers helped me get through and to be able to understand everything and now i'm a straight A student because of them. Also the campus is safer, friendlier and better than most schools in Eastside San Jose. One more thing is that when I was at Dartmouth Middle School, I made the basketball team 6th, 7th, and 8th grade team and it was an amazing time because of the amazing cooperating teachers and students from both the DHOH and the school. If you move Oster, Dartmouth, and Leigh, you'll be losing the teachers who treated us like family, the chances that the deaf kids being able make sport teams and participate in activities easily because all three schools accept deaf, blind, or anyone with a disability, and the students there will be losing the ability of learning another language,(Sign Language) and being friends with the deaf. I've had a good experience at Oster and Dartmouth and I don't want anyone else to miss the AMAZING experience I had. It helped me make it through life. PLEASE KEEP THE PROGRAMS WHERE THEY ARE!!

The Oster program is vital to the youth DHOH and to the community of families it serves. It is a solid and well established program with an outstanding and dedicated staff. Further the program is well integrated into the mainstream program and therefore offers exceptional opportunities for both parents and children even outside of the program to learn about Deaf culture and language. Oster is a model for full inclusion and total communication. Because of well trained staff, centralized valley location, and exceptional hosting of diverse services and family programs my son and his peers became truly successful adults. It would be foolish and ill advised to move this program out. Consider our petition with all seriousness towards the benefit of future youth and families of the greater Santa Clara and even Santa Cruz counties. Thank you!

DHOH benefits both the DHOH students as well as the rest of the Oster students. We love having the interpreters and students in the mainstream classroom. Please

I am Hard of Hearing and I attended this Deaf program at Oster when I was a little kid. This is one of the best programs in the Bay Area. And they have excellent community who support all Deaf children succeed academically. It is very important we keep this program for the future of newer generations to come.

I am a mainstream and DHOH student at Leigh and started the program at Oster and Dartmouth. My teachers, interpreters, and friends are like family to me and they have helped me through hard times and it's so great that they accept me as I am. They support me academically and athletically and I have a lot of hearing friends who learn sign language and it makes me feel accepted. They always tell me that signing is cool! I have had great role models go through the program and I have been able to volunteer with Oster kids to show that DHOH kids can do anything that hearing kids can do. Don't take this program away. It's so special to so many of us!

The Dhoh program has been a positive experience for my children who continue to attend Oster Elementary. Neither of my girls are in the program but have now made friends with program participants and have enriching experiences because of the program being located at Oster. Life long friendships and cultural awareness are being fostered because of the Dhoh program. Please reconsider moving this program.
