As many of us know Denise Kiem, a wonderful photography professor at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, is being terminated as an employee due to the faculty cuts. I have spoken to her several times, and she is more than upset about leaving Edinboro and her students. She proposed that I write a letter to the dean along with a petition to keep her. Hopefully this will convince the school to keep such an amazing person employee at our school.

I have been reading through all your stories about how Denise changed your perspective on photography and honestly it really puts things into perspective for me too. People from the administration are starting to notice the noise we are making so please keep the pressure on while I look for more ways to get this in front of the actual decision makers.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed looking at the screen because this support is growing way faster than I ever thought possible. It really shows how much Denise means to everyone here and honestly my coffee is stone cold now because I have been staring at the monitor for hours just watching the names pop up.

Denise is an amazing professor. She is passionate about photography and her students. She has inspired me to pursue a career in photojournalism and continue my studies abroad. She has always been very helpful and willing to stay after class to help.

In a school with a growing art department, this is unacceptable. From what I've been told it was already hard to get some basic classes because of how few were being offered but this doesn't help! If the school makes it so difficult to take core classes it just keeps them here longer.

The reason why I came to Edinboro was for it's fins arts program and more importantly the inclusion of photography as an art form. Any cut to this department is a blow to the students and alumnus.

Denise inspired my son-in-law as his professor and my daughter to love photography and even took the photos at their wedding as a good friend and repected professor. Please do not let the classes that inspire one's heart along with their minds to dwindle away in our schools and universities!

Professor Kiem was one of the best photography professors I've ever had. She has a unique way of making sure we understand the concepts of great photography. Not only was she inspiring inside the classroom, she helped me tremendously in things I was dealing with outside of the classroom, which is not something most professors would do.

During my last semester at Edinboro, Denise inspired me to pick up my camera again. I now run my own studio doing newborn, child, and wedding photography.

Pardon my french but the fine arts program can suck it! This program has the lowest employment rate with no growth insight. Tank this whole program and all of you get real majors. Time to stop finger painting kids and start working towards a real job.

Photography 1 with Denise has been the highlight of my time at edinboro. She is incredibly dedicated to her students and has the experience and talent to offer sound critiques and advice.
