Traffic is already bad because of all the growth with no forethought to the impact on roads

This project is beyond excessive for this part of Dawson County, will heavily impact fire & safety resources, traffic, noise, schools, & more. My husband is a lifelong resident of Dawson & Lumpkin Counties & convinced me we should move here because it is not like Atlanta - please don’t turn this into an Atlanta suburb. I am vehemently opposed to this rezoning & development.

We recently moved to Dawsonville and enjoy the rural feel. Many of us have left areas so congested that doing the smallest errand becomes a nightmare. When projects of this magnitude get quickly approved I can never understand who stands to benefit. Our roads and schools are not ready for development of this size. Taxes will have to be raised to upgrade municipal services . The beauty of the area will be scared. If your family roots extend a half century or more in Dawsonville or if you’ve lived here for mere months, I feel the quality of life that we enjoy will be gone. Who benefits from development of this size outside of the developers? Certainly not the people who enjoy the beauty and quaint feel of Dawsonville. Once this is built it will be to late for regrets.

I moved here for the low population. I have a possible illegal immigrant who is bragging about neglecting her child. While living in sandy springs, I was the victim or a home invasion and rape. I moved to Dawsonville to get away for that. And now you want to welcome it here. Who is going to pay for my relocation? I will fight any addition of affordable housing!! We don’t need the whores, drugs, or violence.

Our county has experienced tremendous growth over the past 5 years. Why must it be nonstop? Can’t we slow down and plan better so the county we want to live in won’t be ruined?

Established communities and neighborhoods should not be held hostage by developers who see a chance to make a lot of money. Current residents should have the ability to help shape the future of our communities and community voices should have more impact than any developer's voice and plans.
