Currently, an environmental impact study (EIS) is underway and will be released to the public in the coming weeks. The EIS will address how the Spaceport will impact the local ecosystem, the Georgia Coast ecosystem, Cumberland Island National Seashore, Cumberland Island Wilderness Area, and the private land owners on Cumberland Island.
On April 9th, 2018 a public hearing will be held in Camden County. This petition along with Keep Cumberland Wild’s comment will be presented during the hearing.

Cumberland Island is one of few remaining pristine Georgia coastal environment. The Island should be protected from any impacts from the creation of a spaceport.
