While I understand the basis for bringing up this argument, I think going in this direction is simply another silly politically correct directive. Were any of us alive or influenced by the crusades, no. In keeping the Clarke name crusaders are we celebrating the negatives, no. I would prefer to see Clarke stay the same as what it was when we went there.

Leave the mascot as crusaders. So far no one has had a problem with the mascot and therefor it should be allowed to stay the mascot. Stop being butt hurt people

As an 2010 alum of Clarke, I am proud of my school & my time at Clarke. Being a Crusader is not to be hateful or wish to harm others, it's simply a name we've shared & we need to stay the Crusaders.

A Crusader will always remind me of Clarke University and the amazing time and memories I have there. It's a part of the Clarke University identity. Class of 2015

I'm proud to call my self a crusader this has always been a Catholic term for me and bringing the catholic faith to battle without a negative connotation.
