She was an amazing chorus and band teacher. Even if she does not stay at the high school or middle school you mus find a replacement for her.

I have had the pleasure of watching Mrs. Emily Corcoran-Kastner grow up in the Rutherford music programs as well as the Rutherford Community band. She continued her education in music because of her love for sharing it and went on to become a teacher in order to give this same experience to students. She works hard and gives so much of herself. She would better serve the Middle School band and High School chorus. "KEEP CORKY"

Mrs. Kastner (Ms. Corcoran) is absolutely one of the mother dedicated and caring teachers my son has ever had. It is because of her that my son continued with his music education and went above and beyond with him as her student, helping him every step of the way. She has consistently shown amazing work with her students and chorus.

As I watched my daughter play for the last time with the band in college. I couldn't help but take a second a count my blessings that someone as wonderful as mrs kastner gave my daughter the gift of music. Forever grateful. The Granell family.

Leave the music department alone. Not all kids like sports and this is a positive outlet for them. Did anyone hear their winter concert at the higih school, IT WAS AMAZING, let Emily continue to do the wonderful job she is doing. I have lived through many teachers and administrations , my son graduated in 1984, my daughter in 1993, my granddaughter in 2009 and now I have a granddaughter who is a freshman and music and chorus was very important to all of them, I would hate for them to lose this.

As an NAHS alumni I am proud to say that I was a part Mrs Kastner's first 6th grade class. She impacted my life all the way through high school. She is one of the main reasons why kids stay involved in the music program once they get older. Keep her where her skills and experience are needed, at the high school and middle school. Targeting the music program needs to end now.

Stop trying to take away the programs that actually matter in NAHS. Music enriches lives and is proven to make students smarter and think harder. Emily is a fantastic teacher and I'm SO lucky she was mine for my senior year in 2007-2008. You'd be making a huge mistake removing the programs she runs.

Mrs. C is an amazing teacher who is completely dedicated to her work because she cares and loves music so much. It's great to see her interact with everyone and work with her husband as a team for the high school and middle school band along with Chorus. Bringing her into the elementary school will hurt a multitude of programs offered by the district. Please don't take away Chorus, it's a fantastic program that gets a variety of students involved. People like the option of choosing between art and chorus. Personally, i didn't like the art class but i love chorus. Please keep Mrs. C in the high school because it simply wouldn't be the same without her.

As a graduate student of Corcoran, she is someone I consider a friend as well as a mentor. North Arlington needs to realize that children with musical abilities need nurturing cause the way that they reject music programs in this pivotal time in children's lives make them want to stop playing. If Corcoran hadn't come into my life at the time she had, I wouldn't be someone whose pursuing both music and engineering. Even though I'm gone, other children are going to need her to grow into the adults they are meant to be. The Board of Education had no right to take that away from them.

Ms. Corcoran (Mrs. Kastner) is an amazing teacher and personally one of my favorite teachers. I've known her since 6th grade and she has helped me grow as a musician and as a person overall. Her and Mr. Kasnter make a great team and do not deserve to be split apart.
